Nicki McDaniel, MPT
Nicki has worked in a variety of PT positions prior to opening Body Mechanix in Portland. She was born and raised in Missouri, where her pursuit of ballet and tennis fostered a love of movement and fascination with the human body.
She graduated with a Biology degree in 1998, and then succeeded in her dream of becoming a physical therapist. It was during this training that she developed a deep appreciation for the body as a functioning whole; and learned how soft tissue (muscles, fascia, connective tissue), specific movement patterns, and an individual’s alignment can create a cycle of chronic pain and dysfunction. She began her career in Rehabilitation, working with strokes, brain, and spinal cord injuries. She quickly transitioned into outpatient PT, including working onsite with a chiropractor and two orthopedic surgeons who specialized in knee and shoulder repair.
She also worked within the hospital systems for inpatient and surgical rehab, and as a one on one core strength trainer and onsite PT at Intel Corporation. Here she deepened her knowledge in ergonomics, upper body injuries, and work injuries. Nicki is devoted and driven to her help her clients heal, as well as meet any personal goals for their body! She is constantly inspired and amazed by the human body and its ability to heal itself. She finds joy and reward in assisting her clients in imagining, creating, and reaching their dreams. Together we can do anything!
